“Fiction is the lie through which we tell the truth.” -Albert Camus
Stories are an integral part of the human experience. We use them to make sense of our own reality, to parse out the details that are too difficult or opaque to look at directly. Our fictions become almost as important as the world in which we live. We treasure stories, pass them down to the next generation and look to them for answers. Characters from fictions become icons to whom we turn in times of trouble for their wisdom.

Every opportunity doesn’t have to be a life-changer. In fact aiming for a lot of smaller things is a fruitful way to fill in the gaps while you continue to pursue the grander ones. No, you might not be chosen for a Guggenheim or a Fullbright...
|
We just love artist testimonials here at Praxis. They remind us why we do what we do and they keep us inspired to continue providing the very best to each and every one of our students...
|
These are positive and / or negative reviews of galleries, art fairs, consultants, writers,
online pay to play offers, residencies and more – all written by artists so that other artists can beware of situations where institutions treat artists badly, or that end up costing the artist money or are outright scams.
