Guggenheim Grant 45K + Interested?
Published: Mon, 07/27/20
That means you could have an extra 45,000 (forty-five thousand) dollars more or less, with no strings attached.
Sound improbable to you?
The good news is that there is no pre-screening, so all applications are reviewed, as long as you are a resident of the U.S or Canada and not a student.
I am a writer and help with this application is one of the services I offer, once a year. This is an especially difficult year and luckily the Guggenheim is still giving out these grants.
I edited and worked on a Guggenheim Grant with two artists that received it (Kathy & Marsia) and one was in 2018-19, so I know what a winning application looks like.
Here is a quote from Kathy’s letter to me when she got the news that she received it:
"I have received the Guggenheim fellowship! Yippee! Wow-I needed it-last year was hell- my gallery not paying me, many debts from that show-and more. And you were a trooper- I couldn't have gotten it together without you. You made sense of my jumbled essay and the whole thing worked! You are making a great contribution through your efforts and your generous attitude as an artist and writer who shares and nurtures. I humbly thank you with all my heart for stepping up to the plate in such a timely manner." - Kathy Goodell
And here is the letter from the artist who won last year after working with me:
"I am honored to have received the Guggenheim!!! It was a thrilling and wonderful experience to get it. Thank you for your good help in this. You made some very important recommendations to the proposal which is why I think it was a success this year. Also, having the security that you read it and approved of it was helpful and comforting. You know the art scene in NYC and it felt a little stronger with you backing and editing my proposal. I think you are doing an incredible job encouraging people."
- Marsia Alexander-Clarke
If you want me to work with you one on one to help you with the grant and look closely at your art and your history to select the best images, as I did for Kathy & Marsia, please reply to this email as soon as possible and ask me about it and I will tell you the fee structure.
Or just start doing it yourself by clicking here to download the application which will be posted shortly in the beginning of August- it is due about September 17th, 2020, in a little more than a month.
If you have applied before and not gotten it, try again, both women who won it had applied before as well and were turned down multiple times.
Also, you should know, this grant is juried by artists, so you are judged sensitively on your art, as only a fellow artist can do.
I work with a total of seven artists on this on a first come first served basis and then it is closed.
Reply to this letter to ask any questions and also to find out the fee structure of hiring me to work with you step by step for every element of this grant including image selection and looking closely at your art.
Sincerely,
Brainard Carey
