Possible Job Offer / Lecture Gig - Paid / From Yale radio / Brainard Carey

Published: Fri, 03/10/17

Hello,

I am writing to you to ask if you or someone you know would be interested in giving a video lecture on one of several topics. It is a paid gig if you are interested, and can be done from your home.

Here is what I am looking for from professional Artists, Curators, Museum Directors and Writers (as well as your own ideas).

As you know, I interview artists, curators, writers, and others for Yale radio. This is a project that is building a large archive of educational material that I want to expand.

I am looking for video lectures that are about 40 - 50 minutes in length, about one of several topics, and if you are interested, or know someone who is, I would like to hear from you.

These videos would be used to help artists in their studio practice.

I am looking for a person who can present well on video and take their own video (a phone camera will do if the lighting and angle is good).

These are the topics I am looking for and have a budget to pay modest fees for each ($100 per video).

I am reaching out to you, because I am looking for individuals in the arts or related to the arts that have something to share that would benefit other working artists, but you can also propose a lecture I have not listed here, that you feel would benefit an artist professionally.

1. A video lecture on fundraising for independent film making.

2. A video lecture on best approaches to finding and applying to residencies.

3. A video lecture on best practices to communicate with galleries and present work and proposals.

4. A video lecture on finding and applying for grants in Europe.

5. A video lecture on finding and applying for grants in the U.S.

6. A video lecture on working with non-profit organizations in Europe.

7. A video lecture on working with non-profit organizations in the U.S.

8. A video lecture on finding public art open calls and applying and writing proposals.

9. A video lecture on social media strategies for artists.

10. A video lecture on working with festivals and European presenters for audience - based work .

11. A video lecture on engaging and participating in artist - driven communities in the U.S. and Europe.

12. A video lecture on creating a record label (vinyl) and working with other artists and producing and distributing the work.

13. A video lecture on creating and funding an artist collective (or artist-driven institution) anywhere in the world.

14. A video lecture on organizing your visual art / performing art practice and how you communicate and dialogue with different venues and opportunities.

15. A video on any other topic for artists anywhere in the world that will help with aesthetic and professional development.

If you are interested in one of these or proposing something else, just reply and tell me about it, and your background, and what you would cover in the video.

Sincerely,

Brainard
