I need Your Help! With Rip-offs and Scams and pay-to-play and more. Please Read this

Dear Artist,

I recently sent out a letter listing 5 galleries that were vanity galleries or pay-to-play. The response was overwhelming from artists and curators, and I couldn't answer everyone, so I made a website where all these things are tracked worldwide, and where you can add your own experiences from anywhere in the world so that others can be aware of it.

You can post anonymously, and since I don't know all the bad galleries/venues out there, you can add one and other artists can comment on it. I added in all the galleries that some of you mentioned, so please comment on those posts with your experiences so others understand. You email will never be published on this site, and you can remain anonymous.

This will help all artists to not pay for a gallery. Galleries should sell your work, not charge you to hang it, and the same with most fairs, biennials and online "representation." As an artist there is no reason to pay for representation.

Please visit the webpage dedicated solely to this that I just made.

I modeled it on a now defunct site called How's My Dealing, which ended, sadly in 2009.

Here is the website, the directions to post are on the top and you just need to click on the gallery or venue to add comments. All anonymously.

Please help other artists by adding to the website.

Sincerely,

Brainard
