What gallerists fear most

Published: Wed, 06/17/20

Actually, yes they are. Very afraid, in fact.

They’re afraid the average artist will discover alternative ways of selling that can effectively reduce their commission to zero. Or even render commercial galleries obsolete.

Such as selling their work directly to collectors and museums during studio visits...

What makes art dealers so nervous? Simple economics.

If everyone had four+ studio visits a month with collectors and curators, and sold work directly, commercial galleries would lose millions. And (Heaven forbid!) you would keep most of your proceeds.

But how do you increase the probability of getting a “yes” when you invite a powerful curator or collector to your studio? And virtually guarantee a successful visit?

I’ll take you behind-the-scenes and show you the exact process in this free workshop (Monday 22nd June at 1:00pm EST):

In a post-pandemic world where a second wave may or may not hit, and galleries may or may not be open... studio visits (and specifically: online studio visits) are no longer a luxury for artists.

They are a necessity if you want to make your income resilient to lockdowns.

I hope to see you on Monday.

Best,
