Then I want you to meet Marianne Wagner - the curator for Contemporary Art and Head of the Skulptur Projekte Archives at the LWL-Museum in Münster.
With Kasper König and Britta Peters, she curated the Skulptur Projekte 2017. She likes sculpture and ephemeral work and curates internationally.

We had the privilege of hosting her at a recent Praxis Roundtable -- a weekly Zoom call where Praxis students meet and interact with influential collectors, curators and gallerists.
Here are some highlights from that Roundtable:
Video Clip 1: She is talking about her museum exhibition which focuses on ephemeral, process-based, and participatory elements of sculpture. The show draws from the archive of the sculpture projects and the
museum’s collection to highlight the transient, performative, and interactive aspects of sculpture.
Video Clip 2: Discover her academic background and curatorial interests. Her focus begins in the 1960s and continues to the present, especially around how art is discussed. Her PhD
focused on lecture performances and speech acts, which influences her curatorial work. She’s interested in expanding the definition of sculpture to include language and conversation, like inviting artists to create works where speaking becomes sculptural.
Video Clip 3: Explore her
collaborative and research-based approach to curating. She often starts from the museum’s collection and builds projects that extend existing works. She prefers to work with others, collaborating with colleagues from local institutions and incorporating dance, theater, and university partnerships. She emphasizes public access and sharing the museum’s resources through education and interdisciplinary projects, aligned with the Sculpture Project’s commitment to free public
engagement.
In one sentence: She likes sculpture and ephemeral work and creates international blockbuster shows - interested?

Recently, Britt Salvesen, the Head Curator of Photography and Prints
& Drawings at LACMA, selected five Praxis artists who stood out to her: Virginia Sharkey, Andrew Carnie, Sasha Shalmina, Maria-Agni, and Larry Eisenstein. What struck her was not only the work—but the writing. Their artist statements (yes, developed through our Praxis Center courses) stood out for their clarity and power.
Likewise, Dan Cameron, the curator
behind Prospect New Orleans and the man who launched Faith Ringgold's retrospective, looked through the Praxis Portfolio and also picked five artists. FIVE. Among them: Maria-Agni, Glen Gauthier, Andrew Carnie, Udi Cassirer, and Don Keene.
They weren’t pitching him. They didn’t apply for
anything. They were just... there. Visible. Ready. This is what Praxis is built for: to help serious artists get their work in front of serious curators.
- In addition, you’ll get my assistance to effectively reach out to the movers and shakers you meet at these Roundtables. I’ll give you two letter templates you can use, so that you don’t have to worry about what to say and will have a better chance of getting a response back.
- Best part? Mentoring. You can
ask me to personally edit these emails and letters before you send them out to make sure that they are compelling and you don’t get ghosted.
Plus: you also get personal access to me, Brainard Carey, and a suite of educational guides on topics ranging from getting press attention to time management to reaching galleries and getting feedback on your art.
That said, I’m willing to bet that if you ONLY showed up for the
weekly Praxis Roundtables over Zoom and met the collectors, curators and dealers that are there, without doing ANYTHING else, you will at the very least 3X your investment right away.
Which is why I offer a money-back guarantee if you are not happy.
Join the VIP Edition of Praxis Center Membership (Monthly $59/m | Annual $595/yr) and unlock a truly international circle of art world decision-makers who can propel your career!
Enrolment closes on Friday, October 3, 2025. No exceptions.
Artists who enrolled say they saw the membership as an investment in their art and an investment in themselves; a great way to connect
with fellow artists and people in the industry.
