Dear Artist,
When we say curators are coming, we don’t mean “eventually.” We mean they’re already reviewing the Praxis Portfolio as you read this.
It’s not a figure of speech.
This week, Britt Salvesen—the Head of Photography and Prints
at LACMA—selected five artists from our member portfolio. Among them: Virginia Sharkey, whose moody landscapes linger in memory; Sasha Shalmina, a master of delicate abstraction; and Larry Eisenstein, whose layered drawings seem to think for themselves.
And what stood out to Britt wasn’t just the visual work.
It was the writing.
“I can see how much care went into these artist statements,” she told us after the session. “They actually helped me understand the work better, which is rare.”
Want to know something else? Those statements were built inside Praxis—with our guidance.
So when people ask, “Why Praxis?” this is why. Because we’re not teaching theory—we’re building tools artists are already using to get chosen and
remembered.
And we’re not waiting for the art world to come knocking.
We’re opening the door ourselves. Click here to join today (Annual membership gives you the portfolio service)
Yours in art,

P.S. We’ve also had curators from Kunsthaus Zurich, Spelman College Museum, Birmingham Museum of Art, and Museo Casa Rusca all select artists from Praxis in the last few weeks. Who’s next? That might depend on you.
