Tatiana Rais is a
curator and director of a large experimental space in Bogota, Columbia. She explains who gets to exhibit there and why.

Earlier this year, we had the privilege of hosting Tatiana Rais at a Praxis Roundtable -- a weekly Zoom call where Praxis students meet and interact with influential collectors, curators, and
gallerists.
Here are some highlights from that Roundtable:
- Video Clip 1: She wants to collaborate with artists, collectives, and organizations to address critical issues. These collaborations aim to engage audiences in critical thinking and dialogue while
working with artists and agents from various cultural areas. The focus spans ecological crises, challenges caused by capitalism, and local political situations in Colombia.
- Video Clip 2: She is talking about Oleon’s ability to quickly respond to issues and its constant transformation over the years. Oleon, founded in 2011 as a
nonprofit, has taken on many roles: a contemporary art fair, a theater production venue, a film screening space, a hub for large-scale installations, communal kitchens, and even an urban garden. The organization adapts to meet the needs of conversations relevant to its city and art community.
- Video Clip 3: She talks about
Oleon as a facilitator that connects artists, activists, and other agents to create dialogue in spaces that go beyond traditional art settings. While rooted in contemporary art, Oleon also engages with local community leaders in La Candelaria who resist gentrification. The organization runs programs like a communal kitchen, an urban garden, and activities with elderly women, using art as a tool to imagine new ways of organizing and rethinking practices.
