Embarrassing sponsorship letters: can you tell WHY this request is so bad?

“My dream is to have a large studio space to create my art. I gave up my studio when my husband and I took a four-month sabbatical to California in 2019. When I returned there was no opportunity to lease a studio; then covid-19 created a situation where no artist could stay in their studios. I am currently using my house and garage for my studio. I am asking for some help to finance my dream. My dream is not only to have a studio but have enough funding to stretch and frame much of my work. If you are willing to support my dream, thank you. You may give a one-time gift in any amount or give once a month, whatever you decide will be deeply appreciated. If you give to my dream you are considered to be an “Art Patron”. This means …”
That request is going straight into the Patronage H(e)ll of Fame. Clearly a well-written and polite request, written by an artist who knows what they are doing.
Yes, it is real.
